Update

On the following pages, I have compiled information related to normal speech and language development and also information about speech and language disorders. During the coming weeks, I will be posting more information related to facts, definitions, resources and activities to help parents and health care professionals recognize and identify children with possible speech and language disorders. With the proper resources and assistance, these children demonstrate significant improvement in speech, language, cognitive, and academic skills.

Purpose of this blog....

The purpose of this blog is to help parents and health care professionals become familiar with developmental milestones of children in order to recognize children that may need habilitative services. Children that are not meeting developmental milestones may continue to fall behind their peers. However, if the child is provided with physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services beginning at an early age, the child may significantly improve their functional abilities and "catch up" to their peers in their physical, social, cognitive and language skills.
