Here is my brochure for Let's Talk! It's designed for parents of very young children to increase     awareness of normal speech and language skills, and to alert parents to seek help if their child shows signs of difficulties with speech, language or hearing skills.

  1. Kim,
What a wonderful and insightful brochure you created! It has a catchy title that grabs the attention of the audience. The font is appropriate and the sentences are clear to understand. The format and organization of the brochure has good flow. The graphics are appropriate to the subject material. I found the brochure to be very informative for parents who have infants and/or young children. You made sure to include valuable information that is implacable to the development of children. This brochure could be given to pediatric offices to inform pediatricians and parents.

  2. Hello Kim,
Love the color choices for your brochure it really draws attention to your topic. The pictures are great too! Your information was informative and educational. I liked your heading what is normal? Many people do not know what normal is and can miss the warning signs. Being able to recognize and understand your child’s developmental level, as well as, knowing where to find help can change your child’s life. All the elements pull together nicely and create a nice brochure. Great Job!

  3. Kim,
It is readily apparent that your brochure was designed to increase awareness and alert parents. You made good choices of pictures. They include children from several ethnic groups and I think
they make someone want to read the brochure.
The “Where to go for help” section was valuable. It suggested a reliable place for parents to seek more information for what is best for their child’s speech development. This is so often not addressed by the child’s physician. (I think too often they are told they will just grow out of it).
    Thanks for the information.

  4. Kim,

What a great topic and source of information you provided! I enjoyed reading your brochure because I have a nephew who has a speech delay of several years and it was not until his parents had a second child that they realized their oldest had a speech problem. Finally, when the younger child was out performing the older child, they realized they needed to seek help. Letting parents know what is normal is a great topic to have in your brochure for this reason. I don't know how it would affect the flow of your brochure, but the picture of the mother reading with the child is so powerful and has such a great caption, I think it should be larger and in the middle of the brochure. As a working parent, I know it can be hard to take time out to read to your children, but what an incentive when you know how important it is.

  5. Kim,

This brochure is a great quick resource for parents to use as a reference on possible speeching and hearing problems with their children. THis gives them ideas and signs to look for in order to see if their child is delayed or not. Many first time parents are not sure what milestones are suppose to develop at which time. Very well done.
